I just wrote a very long, probably boring blog the other day ranting about how the school district is not acknowledging our sons inhaled allergy to corn.
I would like to make this note shorter and sweeter…
Has anyone dealt with a school district concerning an allergy and gotten services to take care of your child properly?
If so, please tell us how you did it and what the diagnosis was. We are being told that Corn is not a major allergen (which is true, it is not recognized as a major allergen.) We are also being told that the district will not accept any of our doctors notes, albeit, from a Neurologist, Psychologist, Board Certified Pediatrician, Board Certified Allergist, Environmental Allergist and our General Practioner. All of these doctors have been dismissed both in testimonies and in letter writing.
We are not getting any services at all educationally, and we are having to homeschool our children to keep them healthy from teh school environment which as you know from www.cornfreedom.com and facebook, corn freedom, the world is overloaded with corn.
If any of you are a Special Education Attorney, or know one, in New York, Hudson Valley please let me know in a post so we can contact them and see if they can help fight the good fight to make sure this child gets a proper education. Not that I am not trying my hardest, just making all the food, making sure they are educated and my constant researching and working on this site, takes my whole day everyday, and it would be great if they were able to be publicly, in the least restrictive environment educated.
